Re: La Palabra del Día: Servicial

Solamente estaba tratando de ser servicial, pero ahora tiene vergüenza. Here, too, I would suggest ESTAR (servicial, situational), but SER is possible if you meant that he was trying to be a helpful person. He was only trying to be helpful, but now he's embarrassed. http://memeguy.com/photos...

Re: La Palabra del Día: Vender

Ah ¡mira! Se venden cigarillos aquí. For your English sentence (active voice) don't use the "se". If you include "se" passively (verb stays plural), then it means "cigarettes are sold here". If you want it to be impersonal, then it must be: Se vende ...

Re: La Palabra del Día: Posesivo

Los pronombres posesivos no son muy difíciles. The possessive pronouns aren't very difficult. I would argue that point. The table below seems to say that sus=their. "Su" can also equal "their" especially if there is joint ownership. John and Mary's house...la casa de Juan y M...

Re: La Palabra del Día: Aparecer

Creo que Anna ha pedido un sandwich demasiado grande. ¿Qué te parece? I think that Anna has ordered too large of a sandwich. How does it seem to you? I don't think that you have the correct verb. Aparecer and parecer are synonyms in the context of to appear/to show/turn up (become visible...

Re: La Palabra del Día: Testarudo

Mi perro puede ser un pocito testarudo a veces. So that the "c" in "poco" maintains the "k" sound: un po qu ito; otherwise it would sound like an "s". My dog can be a little bit stubborn at times. http://a.abcnews.com/images/GMA/abc_gma_live_dog_130917_wg.jpg

Re: What's the function of "se" in this sentence?

I'm thinking impersonal se , but that is strictly a guess. ...entonces se es feliz porque todo lo que su mano toca es bendecido! ...then one is (impersonal you/they) happy because all that his/their (impersonal your) hand touches is blessed. Se es feliz con tan poco...one is happy with so little To...

What's the function of "se" in this sentence?

I ran across this sentence on Twitter. I don't understand the use of "se" here:

Si la meta es servir a Dios entonces se es feliz porque todo lo que su mano toca es bendecido! Feliz fin de semana!

Is it reflexive? Estarse is a word, but I don't believe I have ever seen serse.
