Para todo le el mundo es necesario de vez en cuando un lugar solitario . Como se dice adonde los reyes también andan a pie.

Un diamante solitario significa joyería que contiene solo un diamante.

un diamante solitario es (una pieza de) joya que...

They use it with both meanings. Checked the DRAE: they use it for the trade and the store, but a piece of jewelry isn't specifically mentioned. However, look here.   qfreed


A solitaire diamond refers to jewelry that contains only one diamond.
