Yesero, ( Gary Thuillier), Rest in Peace

Postby Diverose » Sun Sep 11, 2016 4:15 pm

It is with a heavy heart that I share with you at SpanishHelp that Gary Thuillier, known to all of you as Yesero, passed away on August 19th after a massive stroke. He enjoyed speaking Spanish and posting on the forum. Gary was a dear, loyal friend and scuba dive buddy for my husband and me. We will miss him tremendously.

Thank you for joining the forum so that you could pass this devastating news to us.

I joined the forum a year after it started and it was clear to me Gary was an important and well loved member of the forum. Most members had known each other for many years. Gary welcomed me and encouraged me. I loved reading his posts and enjoyed his sense of humour.

His warmth and his love for his family shone through.

He last posted here in June in support of another member. He had posted less often in the last year, but it still comes as a dreadful shock to know he has died - far too soon.

I am so shocked I actually contacted a mutual friend right away to confirm this so very sad news. I just couldn't believe it.

I have seen messages on Facebook and I am so sad....I never met Gary but we were close friends for such a long time.

he was a good man, so true to his friends, and so funny, and a good diver, we so often talked about diving....I am heartbroken.
:( :(

I even posted this message on SpanishDict, where we met.

I appreciate all English corrections, especially on style! :)

This was most unexpected, and very sad indeed.

Gary was one of those people who always knew how to make the other smile and feel good about being here, about sharing stories, about learning something new.

And of course, he was our very own Bond, Gary Bond, suave man of adventure and mystery. What a hard and shocking loss!

May he move on to greater and grander adventures, crafting his amazing and thoroughly unique art of underwater plastering with the angelfish in the great ocean in Heaven.

Que en paz descanse.
Thank you for posting this. Yesero was such a kind hearted, wonderful support. He worked tirelessly on the team that developed quizzes for Spanishdict.
Thank you, Lord, for allowing many of us to be blessed by knowing Gary.
We pray for his family and friends.

Gary was such a wonderful member of our little community. Smart, generous, interesting, multi-talented and just a great all-around guy. It was such a pleasure to get to know him not only through his posts but also in the group conversations that we used to have in the "old days" at SD.
God bless you, Gary.

Sorry to hear this sad news. I remember Gary because he was an active, enthusiastic member on SpanishDict and came across as a kind and reasonable man with a great sense of humour and of course, his great passion for diving.
Sincere condolences to his family.

Rose thank you for letting us know. I work on a stroke ward so I know how suddenly it can strike but I am as shocked and saddened as everyone else.

I haven't been on the forum lately but Gary was an important part of my Spanish language journey.

RIP
