Drop One, Take One - Coge una , suelta otra

In this case, no moderator is required.

Only two words may be used. Take the last response, drop one word, keep another, and replace the word you dropped with your own word.

Of course, pictures are always encouraged.

Wow, thanks!

How to thank someone

To thank someone, go to the lower right-hand corner of their post. Click the thumbs-up icon below the ! and to the right of the quote.

Image

Has thanked VS. have thanks

What is the difference between "has thanked" as "have thanks"? Well:

Image

Has thanked # times: This is the total number of times you have thanked (clicked the thumbs-up on) other people's posts.

Have thanks # times: This is how many times you yourself have been thanked; the total number of times others have clicked the thumbs-up on your posts.
Believe with all of your that you will do what you were made to do.

Making Your Posts Stand Out

How to post links

To post a link, simply copy its URL from the URL bar. Come to SpanishHelp and come to a post as if you want to post something. Click "Full Editor".

Image

Upon doing so, you will now have a new toolbar.

In your new toolbar, choose the URL option.

Image

Now, will appear. Simply paste your link in between those two little bracket sets, and you are good to go!

How to post photos
Posting photos is a bit difficult here since there is a dimension limit, but do not fear!

As normal, find the picture you want and copy its URL from URL box. Come here to SpanishHelp and come to a post. Click "Full Editor" (instructions above).

Now, you have your toolbar.

In this toolbar, choose the "Img" option.

Image

Upon doing so, will appear. Simply post your link in between those two bracket sets.

Note: If you try to submit your post with the pictures and they do not work due to dimension errors, you can reduce the size.

To do so, become a member [free and simple registration!] at http://imageshack.us/. You will be able to upload pictures and choose the size when uploading.
Believe with all of your that you will do what you were made to do.

Did You See that Video Everyone's Talking About?

Posting YouTube videos directly onto your post

To do this, go onto YouTube and copy the video you want's URL. Come here to SpanishHelp and post using "Full Editor". (instructions on previous posts)

Using your toolbar, click the YouTube option.

Image

Upon doing so, will show up in your post. Post the link in between the two bracket sets and delete everything up to the v=. The only characters that should remain are numbers and letters.

For example, the only thing in between in the video below is: Oe1fRwgGu5E

For complex links like:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrgcx9V2DI0&feature=related

Take only the characters after...v= and before &feature...

So, the only thing in between the brackets should be: yrgcx9V2DI0.

After I while, when we feel it's more or less complete, I will copy this to the FAQ section.

Thank you Sonrisa!

This Forum Looks Ugly

How to change what your forum looks like

It is very simple to change the layout of this forum!

1) Go to our friend the User Control Panel (instructions in previous post where that is)

2) Upon doing so, go to "Board Preferences". When you click it, it should automatically take you to "Edit global settings".

Image

3) Scroll down to "Board Style" and use the drop-down arrow to see your options.

Image

4) Test some out...see what you like best!

My opinions...

On a scale of 1 to 5, 1 being "this is horrible!" and 5 being "I love it!"

blueSilver - 2
Eliteblue - 3
Prosilver - 3
Redsilver - 5
Serenity DarkBlue - 1 [it's SO BRIGHT!]
SupIP.Board. 3.0 Cloudy - 4
SubSilver 2 - 4
Vista - 5 [I use this]
Zeitgeist - 2

Everyone's different, so let me know if you disagree or agree with what I have listed!
Believe with all of your that you will do what you were made to do.

Help required please. I spent a long time yesterday afternoon trying to work out how to add an image to a post including registering with Imageshack. No success - what are the dimensions required for the site please? :bang

Which site? ImageShack's or ours?

Here are resize suggestions from imageshack depending on your monitor.

Image

Our site has a photo limit of 1200 pixels, I believe. I know it was increased from the default value that was around 300 or 600 pixels. Anyway, I think that the resize function is on. If your picture is over this site's limit it will automatically resize it. (rather than just tell you that you have an image error)...qfreed

Idea brilliante, brilliant idea Sonrisa.

Could someone add something about reputation, I can't get it to work, so no-one is gaining any rep from me!

Gracias.
Brillante idea. - chileno 5-13-12

Update : I can now use the rep function, but was having an issue. My thanks to Yesero and Pesta for contacting me about it.
